Make some calls! Send some letters!
Believe it or not, your voice does count. Call or mail your legislator or the Governor, at least once. Tell them it is their duty to repeal the cannabis hemp prohibition laws, because they violate the rights of the citizens. More and more people are doing it and its showing them that this is an important issue.
The main excuse that legislators use to ignore the seriousness of the prohibition persecution is that they say it's not a real concern of the general public. They say that only a few people think it should be legal. Tell your legislator that the laws were based on fraudulent testimony and deceptive legislation, and that prohibition is a waste of government funds.
Your rights can be restored as easily as they were violated. All that is needed is for a vote of the legistature to rule the laws unconstitutional or the governor to pass an emergency measure stopping all arrests, or a supreme court or a jury to rule that the laws are unconstitutional.
Build a network! Tell your friends to get involved! You probably know someone who doesn't think that people should be arrested for growing cannabis. You probably know someone who has a relative whose been arrested for cannabis possession. You probably know someone who has cancer or would like to be able to tell people about the cure. You probably know someone who needs a job and could use a series of new industries in their town. You probably know someone who would prefer to run their car on an inexpensive fuel that burns cleaner and more efficiently. You probably know someone who would like to be able to smoke marijuana without their constitutional rights being violated by police and unjust laws. Let these people know about what we are doing, and tell them to check out our website.
Separately, we're just concerned citizens, but together we are a body of voters, callers, letter writers, lobbyists, lawyers, police, protestors, farmers, entrepreneurs, scientists, and doctors. There's no reason to assume that the law will never be corrected. We've got the evidence of the crime, and you've got the connections to spread the word. The future of this country doesn't have to be as corrupt as the past. Every day there are more signs that the world is waking up to the reality that a healthier planet is just around the corner. We just need to keep pressing on, and not settle for mediocre reform. The truth is the key. We just need more people to make moves to remind the lawmakers that this issue is crucial to our future development.
